TERMS OF SERVICE
Terms of Service
Effective September 27, 2026
These Terms govern use of Find Local Help, including customer requests, provider profiles, quotes, bookings and related payment records. By using the marketplace, you agree to these Terms.
1. The marketplace
Find Local Help provides technology that helps customers find and communicate with independent local service providers. Find Local Help is not the provider of the underlying junk removal, moving, delivery, property, seasonal or other local services unless explicitly stated otherwise.
A provider's approval or appearance on the marketplace is not a guarantee or endorsement of that provider's work, qualifications, insurance, licences, background, availability or suitability for a particular job.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information, protect your login credentials and use your own account. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless you promptly report unauthorized access.
You must be legally capable of entering the transactions you make through the marketplace. Find Local Help may restrict or suspend access where information is false, security is at risk or these Terms are violated.
3. Customer requests
Customers are responsible for describing jobs accurately, including location, access, timing, known hazards and the items or work involved. Photos and descriptions should be relevant to the job and should not contain unnecessary sensitive information.
Submitting a request does not guarantee that it will be published, receive quotes or result in a booking.
4. Providers and independent status
Providers are independent businesses or individuals. They are not employees, agents, partners or representatives of Find Local Help. Providers decide which jobs to quote, set their own customer total and control how they perform accepted work, subject to the agreed scope and applicable law.
Providers are responsible for their taxes, insurance, licences, permits, vehicles, equipment, helpers, disposal obligations, safety practices and any other requirements that apply to the services they offer.
5. Quotes and bookings
Up to three providers may quote on an open request. A quote should state the customer total, any tax included, availability, scope and relevant conditions. The customer decides which quote to accept.
A booking is created when a customer selects a provider. The parties should review the scope and arrangements before work begins. Providers must wait for payment verification where the booking requires payment through Find Local Help.
6. Payments and platform fee
Customer payments are currently made through the payment instructions shown in the booking and are manually verified by Find Local Help. Payment credentials are handled by the external payment provider rather than entered into Find Local Help.
For a completed job, Find Local Help retains 20% of the provider's pre-tax accepted quote. The provider amount is 80% of the pre-tax quote plus the tax amount included in the accepted quote. Providers remain responsible for determining and reporting their own tax obligations.
Providers must not ask customers to bypass the platform payment process for a Find Local Help booking unless Find Local Help has authorized a different arrangement in writing.
7. Cancellations, refunds and completion
Customers or administrators can cancel eligible requests or bookings. A cancellation before payment is generally simpler. Once payment has been reported or verified, the payment status may require review before the booking is financially closed.
If a verified payment exists on a cancelled booking, any refund must reflect the payment actually returned through the payment provider. The current platform workflow records full refunds after they have been processed.
When a provider reports completion, the customer can confirm completion or indicate that further work is needed. These marketplace controls do not replace any legal rights or obligations that apply to the parties.
8. User conduct
You may not use Find Local Help to commit fraud, misrepresent identity or qualifications, harass or threaten others, discriminate unlawfully, obtain unauthorized access, distribute malware, misuse contact information, arrange unlawful services, evade marketplace fees on booked work or otherwise abuse the service.
9. User content
You retain ownership of job descriptions, photos, profile text and other content you submit. You give Find Local Help a non-exclusive licence to host, copy, display and process that content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and improve the marketplace.
You must have the right to upload the content you submit and must not knowingly infringe another person's intellectual-property or privacy rights.
10. Third-party services
The marketplace depends on third-party hosting, database, authentication, email and payment services. Their availability and processing are subject to their own systems, terms and policies. Find Local Help is not responsible for outages or actions outside its reasonable control.
11. Marketplace risks and disclaimers
Local service work can involve property, vehicles, lifting, tools, disposal, weather and other risks. Customers and providers are responsible for making reasonable decisions about safety, scope, qualifications and insurance.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the marketplace is provided on an “as available” basis and Find Local Help does not guarantee job volume, provider availability, pricing, workmanship, timeliness or a particular outcome. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Limitation of responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Find Local Help is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from an independent provider's work, a customer's property or instructions, off-platform conduct, third-party services or events beyond Find Local Help's reasonable control. This section does not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Suspension and termination
Find Local Help may decline, pause or remove requests, provider profiles or accounts where necessary for security, safety, marketplace integrity, legal compliance or enforcement of these Terms. Users may stop using the marketplace at any time, subject to outstanding bookings, payments, disputes or records that must be retained.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Nova Scotia and Canada, without limiting mandatory consumer or other legal rights that may apply.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms as the marketplace changes. Material revisions will be published with a new effective date. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
